SYNC CLUB EVENTS TO YOUR CALENDAR ON YOUR COMPUTER OR DEVICE.
By adding one or more subscription calendars to your phone or computer's calendar, you can easily see details of the golf events you are interested in, wherever you are, without having to access the website.
Subscribing to a calendar allows your device to automatically update any changes at the nominal interval of 1 week. Some device calendar apps allow you to select a different refresh interval. As relatively few changes arise during the year, this should keep you up to date.
The method of adding a web based calendar subscription varies between computers and applications, and iPhone/iPad vs Android. If unsure, search the Web for help on adding a Subscription Calendar or Internet Calendar to your device (specifiying eg iPhone, Mac, Google, Android, Outlook etc).
The table provides a list of available calendars. The full calendar is available, but as some members only play one or two days a week, other versions are available for single days or combinations as listed below. For example, if you play Wednesdays and Saturdays, choose the Wed+Sat version to avoid having your calendar full of irrelevant information.
The calendars, when published, contain events from the date of publication to the end of the nominal year, so for an initial publication in February, the events will cover the period from the February date to the end of March the following year. If a calendar is updated in June, it will only include events for the remainder of the current golfing year (to the end of March).
To subscribe to a calendar, click/tap "Copy" to copy the link to the clipboard. The link is also copied to the input box below the table. Then switch to your calendar application settings to add a Subscription or Internet Calendar, using Paste to paste the link when requested for the URL (web address).
For iPhone and iPad:
- Open settings, Calendar, accounts,
- Select add, other, Add Subscribed Calendar, paste the link address.
- If you don't want alerts, tap on calendars and tap on the (i) button against the chosen calendar, and turn of Event Alerts. Here you can change the colour as well (default is green).
For Mac computers:
- In the Calendar app on your Mac, choose File > New Calendar Subscription.
- Enter the calendar’s web address, then click Subscribe.
- Click the Auto-refresh pop-up menu, then choose how often to update the calendar.
- To adjust settings such as alerts and refresh interval, colour, in the list of calendars right click or Ctrl-Click and click on Get Info
In Microsoft Outlook
- Select File, Account Settings, Internet Calendars, New and past the copied link.
For Outlook.com:
- Sign in to Outlook.com
- At the bottom of the page, select the calendar icon.
- In the navigation pane, select Import calendar.
- Under Import calendar, select From the web.
- Under Link to the calendar, paste the calendar's web address.
Select Import.
In Google Calendar on the Web
- Select "Other Calendar", "Add by URL", paste the copied address.
Android phones should use the Google Calendar app, after setting up the linked calendar using Google Calendar in a web browser.
- On your phone, open the Google Calendar app, open the menu, and then go to Settings.
- Scroll to the calendar email where you added the new iCal feed, tap on Show more.
- Tap on your new calendar's name. Switch the Sync option on.
Some calendar apps, like Samsung Calendar, don't accept iCal feeds. You would need to add the feed to a connected calendar, like Google. The iCal feed would then be imported from that source.
