Frequently Asked Questions about MiClub and MiScore.
MiClub Members Area
This is a web page which will replace the current Members Area and provide access to booking sheets and Member News. You need to log in with your member number (omitting any leading zeros's) and your password.
The first time you log in you should use your day and month of birth, eg 25 January - use 2501. Once you log in you will be prompted to change your password to something more secure, to protect your privacy. The password must have at least 7 characters including upper case, lower case, numerals and symbols (such as ./-=+@#$%^&*()!;:'",) and may not include your member number. It is most important that you keep a record of the new password you have set. Please choose something that you can easily remember.
The new password will also be used in the MiScore App when logging in to FHGC.
Quick access to the MiClub Members Area
If you are using a computer, go to the MiCLub Members area using the link from the Member's Home Page or https://flagstaffhill.miclub.com.au.
Once you have accessed the login page, save as a favourite in the Bookmarks bar of your browser.
On a mobile phone, when you goto the MiClub Members Area you will see:
To add this to your home screen (iPhone) click the share icon to show options:
Click on Add to Home Screen. Your home screen will then show the web page as an icon as at bottom left (iPhone):
Tapping on this icon will take you to the MiClub Members login page. Please uderstand that this is not an "App" but a shourtcut to a web page.
MiScore Account vs FHGC logon
When you install MiScore you will be prompted to create an account, using your email address and a password you specify.
You will then be required to access your email, and in the email from MiScore, click on Verify, then return to MiScore.
This account is for the MiScore App, not FHGC, as the MiScore App allows you to score at many other golf courses, subject to paying a subscription fee (which is not required to use at FHGC).
When you add Flagstaff Hill as a course, the screen will offer to log on to FHGC. This time you must use the same logon (member number ecluding leading zeros) and the password you have set the first time you logged on to the MiClub area of the website. If you have not changed your password it will be day and month of birth eg 2501.
If this is your first logon you should be asked to set a new password, containing at least 7 characters including upper case, lower case, numerals and symbols (such as ./-=+@#$%^&*()!;:'",) and may not include your member number. This requirement is to protect your privacy as the default password is weak and exposes you to hackers who could obtain personal information by logging on as you.
Please note that the MiScore App Account log on and the FHGC logon are separate. If, for example, you were a member of Grange and FHGC, when you play at Grange you would need to log in to that course with your Grange login member no and password, but when playing at FHGC you would use your FHGC logon details. Neither of these are the same as your MiScore App Account password.
Most of the time you will not need to log in to the MiScore App. It may be required if you have clicked on log out or if your phone has been switched off or re-started. For this reason it is important for you to remember your MiScore account logon and password.
It is very important that you keep track of your passwords by writing them down or recording in a Notes app or similar. If you forget your password, reset password options are available on-line to your email or via the Office..
Login problems
Some members have had problems logging on, mostly for the following reasons:
Member changed their password as prompted, but forgot the new password or tried to use the default password again. If you log in to the Memers are MiClub and change your password as prompted, this new password will also be required to log in to FHGC in MiScore. If you change your password in MiScore then the new password is required to log in to themember area of MiClub.
Member number entered with leading zeros. Member numbers are included in your renewal membership account and are, in the old system, 5 digits, usually starting with 0. GolfLink numbers are typically 50202xxxxx where xxxxx is the member number, but there are many members for whom this does not apply. Do not confuse your GolfLink number with your Member Number. 50202 is the GolfLink prefix for FHGC.
If your member number is 01234, then log in with 1234.
Some members have attempted to log in to MiScore FHGC course with the email address and password used to create their MiScore account. When you select the FHGC course and are required to log in, use your FHGC member no and password as set.
Some members have attempted to log in with their GolfLink number. This will not work.
Do I have to use MiScore
NO! While we encourage members to use MiScore for scoring in competitions, paper scorecards are still available. When you register in the competition at the Pro Shop counter you will be asked if you are using MiScore. If not, a scorecard will be printed. But please look at what your fellow golfers are using and their experience. Once your try MiScore it is likely you will want to use it ongoing. Most clubs have around 90% of players using MiScore.
If your marker is also using a paper card, swap cards as usual. If your marker is using MiScore, you will record your scores on your own card and record your marker's scores on the right hand side. Your marker using MiScore will also record your scores and when your scorecard is entered by Pro Shop staff it will be compared with your markers scores submitted via MiScore Self scoring is approved by Golf Australia and R&A.
My phone indicates MiScore is not compatible
Pleae see the instructions at https://miscorehelp.miclub.com.au/support/solutions/14000075026 which will lead you to information about which phone models and operating system versions are supported. Ensure your mobile is updated to the latest version. Unfortunatelly some older phones may not be compatible with the MiScore App.
What does the time indication mean
Course definitions include a nominal time required to play each hole. When you start scoring the time for the starting hole is shown. When you enter scores and move to the next hole, the timer shows whether you are ahead (eg -2) or behind (+ 2) in minutes.
If you tap on this time box a 3 minute count-down timer will be shown, as a guide for looking for a lost ball.
What is my starting hole?
When you start soring in a competition your startng hole will be automatically be set based on the booking sheet. If scoring a social round, when selecting tees please step the starting hole through to 10 if you are playing of the 10th.
A temporary course rearrangement changes the hole order
If, for example, the 9th hole is out of play and the 1-1/2 hole is used instead, then after entering your score for the 1st hole, tap on the total score box to show the scorecard view. Tap on the score for the 9th hole and enter your scores for the 1-1/2 hole. Tap on the total score box to show the scorecard again and tap on the score box for hole 2 to show the socre entry screen for hole 2.
I have missed scoring a hole
Just as when using a paper scorecard, players my forget to update their scores on a hole. Tap the Total Score box (bottom RHS corner) to display a scorecard view. Then tap the score box for the hole you wish to correct. The good thing is you don't need an erasor or a pencil!
Score mis-match
At the end of the round Iget a message that there is a score mis-match on holes 11 and 17.
Just as for paper scorecards, players may record the wrong strokes taken. You need to check with your marker and agree on the correct strokes, editing in the MiScore App as required until a match is obtained.
